Purpose
Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught from a large body of publications that spans more than a century. Those publications have changed, sometimes on matters of life and death. This site places the earlier wording beside the later wording, with dates, pages and links, so that anyone can see for themselves what was taught, what is taught now and what happened in between.
We think the evidence is strong enough to speak for itself. The site therefore avoids insults, mockery and exaggeration, and includes the organisation’s own present explanation wherever it has published one.
Who it is for
- Current Witnesses who are beginning to question what they have been taught.
- Family members trying to show a Witness reliable evidence.
- Former Witnesses checking dates, quotations and sources.
- Journalists, researchers, lawyers, clinicians and members of the public who need an understandable evidence trail.
Independence and funding
JWTruth.org is independent. It is not affiliated with Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, any other religious body, or any advocacy organisation. It carries no advertising, uses no trackers and sells nothing. It is run as a volunteer project by the owner of the domain, who is accountable for its content and can be reached through the contact page; its costs are domain and hosting. Contributors who are current or former Witnesses are not named, for their safety.
What we will not do
- Publish a claim without a visible citation, or mark a claim “verified” without opening the source.
- Reproduce whole copyrighted publications, or use a screenshot where searchable text exists.
- Collect personal testimonies or personal data at this stage. If that changes it will be with a secure, consent-based process, announced here.
- Name private individuals beyond what the cited public record already names, or reproduce graphic detail of abuse.
- Tell anyone what to believe or what to do.
