Report an error

If a quotation, date, page, link or piece of context here is wrong, we want to know. Reports that quote a claim ID or source ID are quickest to check.

Use this for anything on the site that is wrong, unclear, or missing: a misquotation, a bad date or page, a broken link, a source we have marked unverified that you can supply, or a suggestion for what we should cover. Press Send report and the form sends it straight to us. You do not need an email app, and nothing is left in your own sent mail. Giving an email address is optional, and only used to reply to you. If sending fails, or you would rather not send from this device, use Copy report and paste it into any email to [email protected].

What happens next

We re-open the cited source and compare it with the page.
If you are right, we fix the ledger and the page, and log the change on the corrections log with the date.
If we disagree, we log that too, with the reason.

Your report is sent to us through a third-party delivery service, EmailJS, which passes it to our mailbox. We do not publish your name or email, we do not add you to anything, and we do not keep reports beyond the time needed to resolve them. If you would rather not use the form at all, email [email protected] directly.
