Our Kingdom Ministry, “More Emphasis on the Bible!”

March 2005 · p.1 · pars. 1-3 · Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania

“On October 1, 1919, the first issue of the magazine The Golden Age was published. It proved to be a most valuable tool in the preaching work. ... From its beginning, this magazine has contributed mightily to the great witness that has been given since 1919.”

The announcement that Awake! would change its content from January 2006. Paragraph 1 is about The Golden Age; paragraph 2 traces the magazine's descent from The Golden Age (1919) through Consolation (1937) to Awake! (1946) and says 'a number of adjustments were made to The Golden Age to meet the changing needs of the times'; the second quoted sentence is from paragraph 3, whose subject is the magazine in its present form, traced back to 1919.

Provenance and verification note for Our Kingdom Ministry, More Emphasis on the Bible!

Confidence note. Full item read on the Watchtower Online Library on 19 September 2026; the page marker in the page's own HTML places it on page 1. The ellipsis marks an omission of about 130 words, spanning paragraph 2 — the paragraph in which the magazine changes its name. The two quoted sentences therefore do not have the same grammatical subject, and the record says so.
