Provenance and verification note for Between Resistance and Martyrdom: Jehovah's Witnesses in the Third Reich
Confidence note. This book was not opened for this research and nothing is quoted from it here. The Internet Archive copy is lending-restricted; Google Books returned a verification challenge to every request; and the De Gruyter Brill platform, which carries the German edition as DOI 10.1524/9783486594430.87, answers every request with an HTTP 202 JavaScript challenge rather than the text. No publisher page for the English edition is recorded here because none was reached. The pages listed are those the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum cites: 87-91 for the leadership’s early attempts to accommodate the Nazi regime, and 484 for the casualty figures.
Notes. Listed so that readers can see which work underlies the institutional accounts cited here, and so that the limits of this page’s own reading are plain. Nothing is attributed to Garbe on this page.
