La Tour de Garde du 15 septembre 1959 enseignait qu'il n'y avait "no justification for discriminating against brothers because of the color of their skin" à l'intérieur de la congrégation, tout en déclarant dans le même paragraphe que "God's people have to recognize the law of the land when it requires separation with respect to race or color in some countries".

The Watchtower, “Salvation by Overcoming Proud Tradition”

15 septembre 1959 · p.556 · par. 9 · Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society

“Men do make a difference, and God's people have to recognize the law of the land when it requires separation with respect to race or color in some countries. But inside the New World society there is no difference and there is no justification for discriminating against brothers because of the color of their skin.”

A study article on overcoming national, language and racial pride. Earlier paragraphs condemn the idea of a master race and cite the 1958 Divine Will assembly, at which "253,922 people of 123 nations lived together in Christian peace and unity". The sentence quoted sets the limit of that principle: obedience to segregation law where it exists.
