Várias traduções da Tradução do Novo Mundo que costumam ser criticadas são, na verdade, compartilhadas com traduções de uso corrente: em Atos 20:28, “the blood of his own Son” coincide com a New Revised Standard Version e com a NET Bible; Romanos 9:5 coincide com a New American Bible; a leitura impessoal de Gênesis 1:2 coincide com a NRSV e a NAB; Zacarias 12:10, “the one whom they pierced”, coincide com a NRSV; 2 Pedro 1:1 é próximo da American Standard Version; e Jeremias 29:10, “at Babylon”, coincide com a King James Version.

“New Revised Standard Version: “the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.” NET Bible: “the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.” Good News Translation: “which he made his own through the blood of his Son.” Contemporary English Version: “It is the flock he bought with the blood of his own Son.” English Standard Version: “which he obtained with his own blood.” King James Bible: “which he hath purchased with his own blood.””
The New Revised Standard Version and the NET Bible render Acts 20:28 in words identical to the 2013 New World Translation.

“Christ as God: New International Version “the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised!”; English Standard Version “is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever”; New Revised Standard Version “comes the Messiah, who is over all, God blessed forever”. Separate doxology: New American Bible “is the Messiah. God who is over all be blessed forever.”; Good News Translation “May God, who rules over all, be praised forever!”; Contemporary English Version “I pray that God, who rules over all, will be praised forever!””
Romans 9:5 is genuinely disputed among translators quite independently of the New World Translation: the New American Bible, a Roman Catholic translation, punctuates it as the NWT does.

“New International Version: “the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” King James Bible: “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” New Revised Standard Version: “while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.” New American Bible: “with darkness over the abyss and a mighty wind sweeping over the waters”.”
The New Revised Standard Version and the New American Bible both render ruach elohim impersonally at Genesis 1:2. The New World Translation's 'active force' is a stronger paraphrase than either, but the impersonal reading is not unique to it.

“'Me': New International Version “They will look on me, the one they have pierced”; King James Bible “they shall look upon me whom they have pierced”; New American Standard Bible “they will look at Me whom they pierced”; JPS Tanakh 1917 “And they shall look unto Me because they have thrust him through”. 'Him' or 'the one': New Revised Standard Version “when they look on the one whom they have pierced”; New American Bible “when they look on him whom they have thrust through”.”
The New World Translation's 'the one' matches the New Revised Standard Version almost word for word; the New American Bible reads 'him'. This is a textual crux in the Hebrew, not a rendering peculiar to the NWT.

“New International Version: “the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ”; English Standard Version: “the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ”; New Revised Standard Version: “through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ”. American Standard Version: “in the righteousness of our God and the Saviour Jesus Christ”; King James Bible: “through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ”.”
The American Standard Version of 1901 renders 2 Peter 1:1 almost exactly as the 2013 New World Translation does, inserting 'the' before 'Saviour'; the King James Version likewise separates the two.

“'For Babylon': New International Version “When seventy years are completed for Babylon”; English Standard Version “When seventy years are completed for Babylon”; New American Standard Bible “When seventy years have been completed for Babylon”; American Standard Version “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon”; JPS Tanakh 1917 “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon”; New Revised Standard Version “Only when Babylon’s seventy years are completed”; NET Bible “Only when the seventy years of Babylonian rule are over”. 'At Babylon': King James Bible “after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon”; New King James Version “After seventy years are completed at Babylon”; Brenton Septuagint Translation “When seventy years shall be on the point of being accomplished at Babylon”.”
The great majority of modern versions, including the Jewish Publication Society's own Tanakh, read 'for Babylon' — that is, seventy years belonging to Babylon. The King James Version and the New King James Version read 'at Babylon', so the New World Translation's rendering is shared with them.
